HARVEST FESTIVAL
Added: Wednesday 28 September by Sally Lucas

The club has been sent the following invitation;

St Andrew’s Church Chinnor

Harvest Celebration

 Friday 30th September 7.30pm

Dear Young Farmers,

Every year, St Andrew’s Church holds a special Harvest Celebration Service to give thanks for the farming community in Chinnor and the neighbouring villages. This year we would like to extend our invitation to members of the Princes Risborough Young Farmers Club and their families.

At our Harvest Services, members of the congregation can if they wish, bring a small box or basket of produce (fruit / vegetables / tins), which can be taken up to the high altar at an appropriate time during the service. These gifts will be distributed to the elderly and those in need in the local community.

Following the service, there will be a “bring and share” supper in the church. Please can all Young Farmers (or families) attending bring a plate of food, either savoury or sweet, which can be shared at the supper. The church will also provide some food and the coffee / tea / refreshments.

We look forward to seeing you.

With best wishes,

Mark Humphrey

TRACTOR PULL FUNDRAISER
Added: Tuesday 12 July by Sally Lucas

Hi All,

I just wanted to let you know about the latest fundraiser for our club. For those of you that don't know, 7-8 of the senior clubs girls will be pulling at the National Tug of War Finals at Newbury Show in September this year. Although we were eliminated at County level, Buckingham YFC were in need of a further 6 girls in order to go through to SEA at the South of England show this May. We won that, and therefore qualified for nationals this year. Due to injuries and other commitments on the Buckingham end, it looks as if the team will be 100% Risborough (Antonia Lowther, Sally Lucas, Catherine Shelmerdine, Charlotte Bosher, Joanne Nixey, Sophie Bettison, Vicky Parkinson and Polly Walker.)

However, the rules at Nationals are very strict boot-wise, and the majority of the team have badly fitting, ineffective boots, which have in the past caused injuries. We would like to replace these boots with proffessional Tug of War boots, which the club would own. However, these boots will cost between £80 and £90 each, and we will need at least seven pairs, which adds up!

Therefore Nick Brunt and I have decided to organise a Tractor Pull to raise funds for these boots. It will take place on the 14th of August, down the High Streets of Thame, Risborough and Wendover. We will be using a mixture of people from the boys and girls teams, as well as other members. An electronic way of donating will be set up shortly, but in the meantime if anyone would like to make a personal donation via cheque or cash, then please contact me on 07769 089 357. No donation too big or too small!! Thank you for any donation you can give, from the whole of the Tug of war team.

Charity Chiltern 3 Peaks Challenge
Added: Friday 24 June by Nick Brunt

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=154692587935563

I would like to organise a charity event for PRYFC to take part in, in aid of CHILTERN AIR AMBULANCE, our chosen charity.

The Chiltern Three Peaks Challenge is a route starting at Ivinghoe Beacon, to Coombe Hill and on to finish at Whiteleaf Cross.

You can choose to walk 5 miles, 9 miles or the full 18 miles - something for all abilities, so there is no excuse not to get involved!

The walk will take place on Sunday 7th August and will finish with a BBQ at my house in Risborough for all of those who walk.

This is a really great opportunity for PRYFC to do something for charity - which will get us noticed at county level, hopefully we can get in touch with local newspapers or the YFC newsletter and get some publicity. It would be great if we could get as many PRYFC members - including past members and the juniors involved too - WE ARE A TEAM! And have FUN whilst raising money for a chairty who rely on fundraising like this to function - please visit their website:

http://www.tvacaa.org/

I will ask that all walkers give a £5 'sign up' fee - 100% of which will go to kick-start the donations.

PLEASE GET INVOLVED - this is a great opportunity to give something back to the community and achieve something as a CLUB! Thank you and I hope to hear from many of you soon!
